The COVID-19 crisis has not thwarted Purfleet based Youngs Transportation & Logistics’ expansion plans.
This week saw the acquisition of North West Cargo in Warrington adding another forty-four vehicles to the fleet and providing them with a presence in the North, something their major clients have been pushing for.
With depots in Southampton, Purfleet & now Warrington, the influence of Youngs in the LCL haulage and groupage consolidation depot market is steadily increasing giving customers flexibility for Youngs to accommodate Imports arriving into all Ports and Exports collecting around the country back into their strategically placed hubs for loading.
The acquisition of NWC gave them the opportunity to work with a well-known parcel carrier and accommodate extra loads during the peak season of Christmas / Brexit and Covid and look forward to working in this sector into 2021 after a successful peak period
Paul Pavitt, MD of Youngs said, this acquisition and coming together of both companies is perfect for our strategic plans and growth plans and maintaining customers’ requirements. NWC is a terrific company with a great basis for us to build on with a fantastic loyal team.
We share 50% of our customer base and look forward to working with the other customers new to Youngs and enhancing relationships and services, such as traction-only services.
We are always looking to improve what we do and will continue looking to acquire other strategically placed depots.
